第五届思源海洋会议 Shanghai Ocean Conference 2023 思源海洋会议旨在聚集世界海洋科学与技术方向的专家学者,搭建一个学术交流与科研合作的平台。自2019年以来,已成功举办了四届会议,主题分别为 “海洋环境与气候变化的相互作用”、“中高纬海气过程及其气候效应”、“极端海洋”和“极地深海:变与不变”,探讨了相关领域的前沿科学与技术问题。2023年5月13-15日,上海交通大学海洋学院将举办第五届思源海洋会议,主题为“思源:四极”。会议将分设海陆气相互作用和东亚季风、极地动力和生物地球化学循环、深海生态和原位试验技术三个专题。诚挚邀请资深专家和优秀青年人才共聚一堂,探讨全球变化背景下,地球系统的演变过程与机制,探索科学前沿。 Shanghai Ocean Conference is a forum for scientists and researchers from the world to communicate scientific ideas and to seek research collaborations on ocean processes and climate change. The themes of past 4 conferences were “Ocean Environment and Climate Interaction”, “Ocean-Atmosphere Interactions between Mid and High Latitudes and their Climate Effects”, “Extremes in the Ocean”, and “Polar and Deep Oceans: Variability and Stability”, respectively. Shanghai Ocean Conference 2023 will be held between May 13 and 15 with the theme “Siyuan: Four poles” hosted by the School of Oceanography, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. “Siyuan” means original thoughts in Chinese. We would like to invite all senior to early-career scholars in related fields to join us. The Asian monsoon is subject to thermodynamic processes over the Tibetan Plateau and ocean-atmosphere interactions in the tropical ocean. Particularly, integrated multiscale processes between small-scale oceanic processes, large-scale ocean circulation and crossing basin-scale ocean-atmosphere interactions have significant impacts on the energy budget and moisture transport in the monsoon system. 极地动力和生物地球化学循环 Dynamical processes and biogeochemical cycles in Polar oceans 极地的物理和生态环境正在经历前所未有的变化。北冰洋变暖、海冰消退、淡水累积,这些变化伴随着初级生产力增长和海水酸化。在南大洋,海洋-海冰-冰架-大气相互作用过程的变化对经向翻转环流、全球海平面上升、生态系统动力学和碳通量都产生了显著影响。极地地区的多尺度海洋动力过程和生物地球化学循环过程对全球气候变化有着复杂的响应和反馈机制。 The environments and ecosystems in polar oceans are undergoing unprecedented changes. The Arctic Ocean is warming, with sea ice retreating and fresh water accumulating, accompanied by an increase in primary production and ocean acidification. The Southern Ocean is losing ice shelves through ocean-ice-atmosphere interactions which have significant potential impacts on the meridional overturning circulation, global sea level, ecosystem dynamics and carbon flux. The multiscale ocean dynamical and biogeochemical processes in polar oceans have complex responses and feedbacks to global climate change. 深海生态和原位试验技术 Deep-sea ecology and in-situ experiment technology 深海生态系统是全球碳循环的重要组成部分,也是发现新型海洋生物资源的前沿领域。深海生物的生理状态、生态功能和演化历程研究对观测、取样和实验技术提出了新要求。本专题将聚焦深海生态系统研究所面临的科学问题和技术需求,尤其是以深海原位探测技术为代表的科学需求与技术研发的对接,展望未来发展前景。 The deep-sea ecosystem is an integral component in the global carbon cycle and a pivotal frontier in the discovery of novel biological resources. Studies of deep-sea ecosystems present new technological challenges for observing, sampling and analyzing physiological status, ecological function, and evolutionary history of deep-sea organisms.
